At the end of May, 2016 IEC delegation (Mr. Larin and Mr. Smirnov) has visited the Kerch shipbuilding plant «Zaliv» in Crimea.
The plant has one of Europe’s largest dry dock, 10 berths with a total length of 1630 meters, water area of 47 ha. From the water area of the plant to the Kerch-Yenikalsky channel is the output channel with the length of 2.9 km. Today, the condition of the piers requires repair, one of the berths (berth No. 1) is in poor condition and not operated. The water area of the plant and the output channel require dredging.
In the framework of the visit a meeting with the General Director of the plant Mr. Zherdev and heads of technical divisions of the plant was held. The development plans of the plant and the possibility of IEC participation in reconstruction of hydraulic structures of the plant and dredging works performance have been discussed. IEC specialists have been requested to prepare a commercial proposal for development of projects of reconstruction and repair of three objects and concepts of the yacht marina.
Also during the visit a preliminary meeting with a representative of the SUE of the Republic of Crimea «Sea ports of the Crimea» which is a customer of the reconstruction and development of ports located in the Crimea: Yalta, Feodosiya, Kerch, Evpatoria has been held.
